Medical education in Canada

Medical sciences in Canada are among the most prestigious disciplines in the world. Doctors, dentists and pharmacists also have the highest income in Canada.

How to enter medical, dentistry and pharmacy courses in Canada is different from that of Iran. To study in these fields, applicants must first study for a bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences or Pre-Medicine for two, three or four years, depending on the university. Students interested in entering medical colleges usually choose general courses such as experimental sciences for their undergraduate degree.

Post-third-year undergraduate students must enroll in the Medical College Admission Test, also known as MCAT, and will be enrolled in a medical, dentistry, or pharmacy, if successful. Students then receive their degree after four to five years of study at medical colleges. The high average of undergraduate and postgraduate degrees is among the other influential factors in admission to medical faculties.
